Terms + Conditions
Please read these Terms carefully because they contain important eligibility requirements, rules governing the grant process and other important information for those applying for the 2022 NOT REAL ART Grant for Artists
 
The Program:
The Not Real Art 2022 Grant Program (the Program”) is sponsored by Crewest Studio, LLC and will grant six individual unrestricted grants of $2,000.00 each (the “Grant”) to six eligible visual artists who complete this submission and application process (a “Grant Recipient”). Submission Period: The period for submission commences on January 1, 2022 and ends at midnight (Pacific Time) on May 1, 2022.
 
Eligibility:

  • To be eligible for a Grant the Artist Applicant must:

  • Be a practicing visual artist in a two dimensional medium;

  • Be at least 21 years old;

  • Be a resident of the United States.

  • Complete the submission process for the Program through this website and its interface submitting at least three and no more than five works as part of the submission (no submissions will be accepted in any other manner);

  • Pay the application fee of $19.95 through the interface provided on this website;

  • The submitted works must be the sole work of the artist submitting the work (no collaborations may be submitted);

  • Prior Not Real Art grant recipients are ineligible for the 2022 Program.

  • If you are deemed ineligible for any reason your application fee will be returned to you.

 
Selection of Grant Recipients:

The Grant Recipients will be selected from the eligible Artist Applicants by a panel of reviewers selected by Not Real Art and Crewest Studio who are professionals or experts in their respective fields in the visual arts. The same panel will review all eligible applicants and will apply the same standards and criteria of review to all applicants.  Depending on the number of Artist Applicants, each panel member will not necessarily view all of the Artist Applicants but every Artist Applicant will be a reviewed by at least one panel member.
The selection of the six Grant Recipients will be based on the materials and responses provided by the Artist Applicant in their submission and the quality of their respective art works. The panel will also select ranked alternate Grant Recipients in the event an original Grant Recipient becomes ineligible. Applicants acknowledge that the review process includes subjective assessments of submission materials by the panel members and agree to be bound by outcome the panel’s decisions. The decisions of the panel will be made in advance of August 1, 2022.
 
Grant of Rights By Artist Applicants and Grant Recipients:
 
As between the Sponsor and the Artist Applicant or Grant Recipient, the copyright and all rights held under copyright in the submitted work will remain the property of the Artist Applicant or Grant Recipient who submitted the work.
By submitting works in their applications and their written materials in the applications, Artist Applicants grant to the Sponsor the right to use the submissions and materials as part of the process of evaluating them for the Program and to use Artist Applicants submissions and materials in promotional, editorial, brand and Grant features distributed by Not Real Art and Crewest Studio as a part of their communication and marketing initiatives. In this connection, Artist confirms that the images submitted by Artist were made by either the Artist or a third party that has agreed to permit Artist to make the grant of rights contained in these Terms + Conditions. Sponsor confirms that any promotional, editorial, brand and Grant features using Artists Applicants images or materials will reference and credit the applicable artist.
Artist further grants to Sponsor the right to include applicants in an artist database for communication, marketing and promotional opportunities.
No original files should be submitted and files which are submitted will be retained by the Sponsor and not returned.
Any permissible use or display in any persistent media such as websites, mobile applications or printed matter may remain accessible in perpetuity. To be clear, in connection with those activities Sponsor will not have the right to sell any copies of the submitted works in any medium.
Artist Applicants grant to Sponsors the right to use their name and likeness in and in connection with the Program and the promotion of the Program without limitations.
Grant Recipients agree to make themselves reasonably available for promotional events related to the Program and to consider the placement of their work in gallery exhibits or other displays associated with the Sponsor and the Grant Program.
After a period of at least five years has elapsed, and Artist Applicant including Grant Recipients may request that Sponsor cease further distribution of any images submitted by the artist during the application process.  However Sponsor cannot remove images used any persistent media which was produce prior to the request.
 
Use of Grant Funds:
Grant Recipients each receive $2,000.00 in a single payment. Grant Recipients may use the Grant for any purpose whatsoever at the recipient’s complete discretion.
 
Representations:
Artist Applicants warrant and represent that the work submitted by them will be their sole original work and that they hold the rights necessary to make the grant of rights to Sponsors in these Terms and Conditions without the Sponsor needing to obtain additional rights from third parties. Artist Applicants represent that the information they provide in the submission process including biographical information will be accurate, true and correct.
 
General:
California law governs the Program and any dispute arising from the program. Any legal action taken by any party will first require the Grant Applicant and/or Sponsor to meet face to face as principals to resolve the matter without formal legal proceedings. Sponsor is not responsible for and will not suffer any financial loss or liability to any person including Artist Applicants in the event of a failure of or damage to any computer system used for the Program whether from Sponsor’s own technical failures or by the acts of any third party. Sponsor is not responsible for and will not suffer any financial loss or liability for any loss of data or information used in a submission to the Program as a result of technical errors or the acts of a third party.
